"The choice of Sarah Palin as John McCain’s running mate has all sorts of interesting political implications, which are being diced and parsed as I write. But I’m more interested in the long-term cultural implications of the choice of Palin, whether the McCain–Palin ticket wins or loses in November, for one of the most vexing horizons of impossibility in our culture: the abortion rate among unborn babies diagnosed with Down Syndrome."

from http://www.culture-making.com/post/the_best_thing_about_sarah_palin

"The presentation on Sunday is called “Has the Family Tomb of Jesus Been Found?” This is certainly to be discussed at the water coolers on Monday. And you as a Christian should be ready with some reasoned questions of your own (asked in the right spirit). So join me for this special message in our series on Tough Questions – Honest Answers. And please pray for wisdom and insight for me as I prepare."

from http://www.immanuelbaptist.org/

"BibleMap.org integrates Google Maps and the ESV text to create an interactive Bible atlas.

You browse to a chapter in the Bible, and all the place names are links. Click one of the names to go that place on the map. Then click the pushpin to show some background information on the place."

from http://www.esv.org/blog/2007/01/biblemap.org

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the many examples included.
The DNA of Relationships is
1. You are made for relationships.
2. You are made with the capacity to choose.
3. You are made to take responsibility for yourself.
Each of these is obvious, but we need to be constantly reminded.
I particularly enjoyed his discussions on the fear dance.

The DNA of Relationships

Gary Smalley Greg Smalley Michael Smalley Robert S.

"Every hour of spiritual awakening has been started by a recovery of Biblical expository preaching. The reformation turned Europe upside down by this. The puritans were known as expositors. The great awakening of Jonathan Edwards was marked by expository preaching. Every true revival has been ushered in my a recovery of Biblical preaching. Every true progress in church history is conditioned by a deep study of scripture. The preaching of the word of God is needed. It is the culmination of Sola Scriptura. There are five non-negotiables to Biblical preaching."

from http://www.coffeeswirls.com/?p=1958
